French NCEA L1 - Year 11 - NZC L5 to 6

Further developing on knowledge gained from junior levels to communicate in a second language. Learning French allows you to explore another language and culture which in turn gives a greater understanding of your own language. Students will be able to communicate beyond the immediate context and this will cover a variety of topics from communicating about problems and solutions, to communicating about immediate plans, hopes, wishes and intentions.

Pre-requisite: Year 10 French or at teacher's discretion

NCEA Achievement Standards: 3 internal achievement standards (speech, writing portfolio and portfolio) and achievement standards (listening and reading).

DELF (International Diploma in French): Level A1/A2

Leads to: Further study in French at Level 2 and 3, exchange opportunities in the senior school.
